    The numerous touristic advantages of Haute Savoie

    Its ski resorts, its 4 mountains (Mont-Blanc, Aravis, Portes du Soleil and Grand Massif) its natural reserves, its exceptional sites (Mer de Glace, Aiguille du Midi, Cirque du Fer à Cheval...) But aso its Lakes Leman and Annecy famous for their beaches and the quality of their water and its thermal resorts allow Haute Savoie to benefit from two seasons (summer and winter) and to be one of the most complete touristic french departements.

    Annecy : a town of art, history and culture

    In the heart of these exceptional landscapes Annecy is one of the oldest towns in the North Alps. Recent excavation have permitted to date in 3041 before JC the submerged littoral village of the old Annecy. From a historical point of view, the nearnem of Geneva Country thanks to the setting of its princes, then the bistoprics after the triumph of Calvinism. In the XVth century the Savoie House made it become one of it favorite places of residence.

    Le pont des amours which you can see from the terrace of our hotel crosses the Vassé Canal which separates the Champ de Mars from the Europ gardens where you can enjoy a calm rest in the shadow of secular trees...

    Le palais de l'isle remains the most typical monument in Annecy. Its triangular form reminds of the prow of a galley anchored in the river. It was the first residence of the Annecy Lord in the XIIth century, then it became administrative Hotel, judicial office, Moneys Hotel, then a jail before becoming an exhibition hall nowadays.

    St François church, very near from the hotel, was built in the XVIIth century as the chapel of the first visitation monastery called “the holly Source”. It shelters the burials of St François de Sales and St Jeanne de Chantal. Next to the choir of this sanctuary you can find the Memorial St François de Sales which evokes the life of the former bishop who lived in Annecy (1567-1622).

    The lake just in front of the hotel

    Annecy is the most famous of the four lakes in Savoie and Haute Savoie. You will discover its blue turquoise waters dear to Cézanne. A town of Art and History, Annecy and its neighbouring mountains offer in all seasons numerous activities either cultural or relaxing.

    The water of Annecy lake is famous for being one of the purest of European lakes. Even if Annecy is not a thermal town water is omnipresent.

    The Annecy lake, surrounded by the Aravis and Bauges mountains keeps seducing people enjoying water activities: swimmers, winsurfers, sailors or fishermen.

    Thanks to the quality of its ecosystem numerous fishes live in the lake like fera, perch, carp, roach...

    For people fond of natural or cultural discoveries a cruise stopping in the villages bordering the lake is a  very nice way to discover the local patimony.

    Worth noting too the natural reserve of the “Bout du Lac” which shelters reptiles, ducks, swans and even beavers !
